The Story Behind the video Jack Creek - A Love Story | Ken W. Hall

The Story Behind the video Jack Creek - A Love Story|Ken W. Hall

A dear friend showed me this video three days after Ken passed. I don't remember exactly when he produced it for me, but she received a copy of it on a cd Ken gave her two years earlier that included several items he created.

The timing of her gift was extraordinary. It came at a time in my grief process when I needed to hear from Ken the beautiful message contained in the video. He must have shot the videos at Jack Creek near the Diamond J. Ranch where I worked when we first arrived in Ennis, Montana in 2000.

Recently I found the original video on Ken's computer, was able to convert it to a modern format and post it to my youtube channel Valentine's Day February 14, 2022. Click here to watch the video

Here are the words to the poem he wrote in the video.

Jack Creek _ A Love Story  By Ken W. Hall

 What if I were water…

 which thirst to serve…

 what tear would I cry…

 which plant to nourish…

 which breath to sigh…

 I ask the tree…

 Aren’t you and I the same…

 Are your leaves…

 mine…

 The water says yes…

Then that makes us family Right!

 I’ve been thinking

 Since we are family

You are the first to drink

You are the tear I cry

A tear of joy and love

You are the plant I nourish

 And the breath I sigh

 In our oneness

 I am home

 And through loving you

 I remember me.

 Thank you Penny
